“Jagermeister: Created in
Germany 80 years ago – translates as Master Hunter!”
Next month is expected to
see the launch of the first UK TV advertising campaign from jagermeister. What
better way to do this than with a group of professional surfers!
The campaign is set to cost
£3 million and features Ben Skinner, Ritchie Fitzgerald and Oli Adams as part
of the group of professional surfers. The ad itself was shot in Iceland over a
ten day period without the use of scripts or a storyboard.
Aimed at 18-35 year old
men, the campaign shows a bunch of male friends who are all on a road trip
through icy landscapes and end up going surfing together in the extreme weather
conditions. The ad finishes with all the friends in a bar, drinking
jagermeister with a voice over exclaiming “It runs deep”. The soundtrack is
supplied by JagerMusic’s Fightstar.
The ad will launch on ITV
during The football match between England and Denmark on March 5th.
The advert will also be supported by cinema and digital advertising.
The ad campaign was created
by The Red Brick road and was directed by Seb Edwards. The creative directors
of the project were Matt Davis and Richard Megson.
Nicole
Goodwin, the group marketing manager at Jägermeister UK, said: "This is
another exciting first for Jägermeister in the UK as we step up our campaign to
connect with our core consumers. "The new ad was created in the true
character of Jägermeister, using real friends and no scripts, so that the
finished film focuses on those unique bonding moments you only get with your
mates."- http://www.mediaweek.co.uk/article/1281994/jagermeister-launches-first-uk-tv-campaign
Although the brand is only
just beginning advertising in the UK the brand has been running TV ad campaigns
in Germany since the 1970’s.
